Ichimatsu-an's check-in and check-out procedures are very simple. You do not need to come to the office to get and return keys. Further explanations on the check-in and check-out procedures will be send, in advance, by email.
One of Kyoto’s summer traditions is to eat in a Noryo-Yuka (a terrace restaurant) while enjoying the view of Kamo River. Situated near the station Shiyakusho-mae, Ponto-chō(先斗町)and Kiyamachi Streets(木屋町通) will also offer you a beautiful night view with their lanterns and old wooden buildings. We recommend also Nijō Castle(二条城)and Keage Incline(蹴上), an defunct railway track bordered by cherry trees.
You can stay in a traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse at an affordable price because Ichimatsu-an is located outside of the downtown area, however it does not mean it is inconvenient. You can reach Ichimatsu-an from Kyoto station by bus and no needed to transfer.
